Terms

Mach, the mail app for Gmail on Mac and iPhone · Ahmed Khaleel · Effective 9 October 2026

Mach is free for personal use, comes with its source and with no warranty, and is not a Google product. The rest of this page says the same thing more carefully.

01The agreement

These terms are between you and Ahmed Khaleel, the individual developer in Ontario, Canada who makes and publishes Mach. They cover the Mach apps for Mac and iPhone and this website. By using Mach you agree to them; if you do not, please do not use it.

02Free for personal use

Mach costs nothing for personal and other noncommercial use. Its source is open, and you may read it, change it and share it on the same terms. The licence is the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0; where this page and the licence differ about the software, the licence wins.

Using Mach in or for a business needs a commercial licence. Email ahmed@gitdiagram.com.

The name Mach and its icon are the developer's. If you publish a changed copy, give it a name and an icon of its own.

03Your Google account

Mach is a way to use your own Gmail. You need a Google account, and Google's terms for that account keep applying when you reach it through Mach. Mach acts only on what you tell it to do: what you send, archive, trash or snooze in Mach really happens in your Gmail. You are responsible for your account and for the mail you send.

How Mach handles your data is in the privacy policy.

04Fair use

Do not use Mach to send spam, to break the law, to get into an account that is not yours, or to get around the limits Google sets on its services.

05No warranty

Mach is provided as it is, with no warranty or condition of any kind, to the extent the law allows. It is made with care and tested, but it can have bugs, and it can stop working if Google changes its service. Your mail lives at Google, not in Mach: keep whatever backups you would keep without it.

06Liability

To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from the use of Mach or from not being able to use it, including lost or unsent mail, lost data and lost profits. Nothing here takes away rights you have by law that cannot be given up.

07Not Google's, not Apple's

Gmail is a trademark of Google LLC. Mach is an independent app that works with Gmail through Google's public interfaces. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google.

Mac, iPhone, TestFlight and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. If you get Mach through Apple, Apple's own terms for apps apply as well; Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Mach or for supporting it.

08Changes and ending

The developer may change Mach, these terms, or stop offering Mach. New terms are posted here with a new date. You can stop at any time: sign out and delete the app, as described in the privacy policy.

09Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. If you use Mach as a consumer, the consumer protection laws of the place where you live still apply to you.
